PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Virginia is for Learners Public Information Campaign

Conceptualized and successfully implemented the Virginia is for Learners public information campaign.  


This  work included:


  • Directing marketing collateral design and development processes for print and digital communications channels, including website, print and social media.
  • Developing and implementing internal communication strategy and plan. 
  • Organizing the Governor's official Virginia is for Learners Launch event and developing all messaging and remarks presented by the event speakers.
  • Ensuring brand integrity and partner engagement.
  • Managing Social Media, digital media, and web content to support the broader campaign.

#EdEquityVA Initiative

Spearheaded the development and implementation of the Virginia's #EdEquityVA initiatives focused on disseminating best practices to reduce disproportionality in student outcomes and to advance systemic equity and culturally sustaining and inclusive competencies among education leaders and professionals.  


This work includes:

  

  • Conceptualized the development and led the implementation of Virginia’s #EdEquityVA strategies and initiatives focused on eliminating disproportionality in student outcomes. Essential to this was authoring and designing Virginia’s Navigating EdEquityVA Roadmap, developing Virginia’s Equity 5Cs messaging, the Return to School Equity Strategies and Return to School Equity Audit Tool, and the Navigating EdEquityVA Audit Tool. 
  • Increased offerings and tripled participation in the EdEquityVA Webinar Series. 
  • Successfully launched the Virginia is for ALL Learners Education Equity Summer Institute – a statewide professional conference attracting more than 800 educators annually. This conference was transitioned to a Virtual Summit format in response to COVID-19 with more than 2,000 educators participating over two days in 2020.
  • Conceptualizing, developing and implementing a statewide platform to deploy culturally responsive professional development training to Virginia educators and policy makers.  
  • Establishing Virginia’s Education Equity Commitments and developing metrics to monitor Virginia's progress towards these goals. 
  • Launching EdEquityVA communities of practice across the state centered on education equity.
  • Developing and launching Virginia's EdEquityVA Webinar Series.

This included; developing the program design, managing a program budget of $700,000; development and implementation of marketing and recruitment strategies; soliciting corporate and non-profit partnership/sponsorship; recruitment of volunteers and contract monitoring. Planned, organized, and implemented Mayor's special initiatives for the City’s Human Services portfolio.
